Don't Worry Mother, This is the Right Time for Newborn to Go Outside
Don't Worry Mother, This is the Right Time for Newborn to Go Outside
After giving birth, mothers usually get a lot of “advice” from the family, especially from parents and in-laws about what to do and not to do with their newborn child. The standard that arises in our society says that babies cannot leave the house before they are 40 days old, is this true? Then what happens if you are bored and need to leave the house to breathe fresh air with your baby? At what age can your little one be taken out of the house? What must be considered so that the baby is safe and comfortable when invited to go for a walk? Here's the full review.
Medically, there is no definite standard when our newborns are allowed to go out of the house. According to John Hopkins Medicine, there is no firm standard regarding the right age to take a newborn out of the house. Basically, you can take your newborn out even before they are 40 days old if the baby's health and the place to go for a walk or the neighborhood are suitable and safe enough. However, for caution, some doctors recommend waiting for a baby aged 2 to 3 months to be taken out of the house.
Then, what aspects should we pay attention to before taking our little one for a walk? Of course, we must pay close attention to the following for the health, safety and comfort of our baby when outside the home. The first thing that fathers and mothers should pay attention to is paying attention to weather conditions. When the weather conditions are strikingly hot or it's raining heavily, it is certainly not recommended to take our babies out of the house. In addition, adjust the clothes of your little one according to the place where you are going. Avoid wearing clothes that are too thin when going to the mall which is full of air conditioners and wearing clothes that are comfortable and not thick for your little one when going to a warm place.
In addition to the two things above, it is also necessary to pay attention to the condition of the people around us. Protect your baby from having direct contact with people who are in an unhealthy body condition, be it hugging, holding and especially kissing the baby. It is also better for parents to ask other people to wash their hands first before holding your little one. This is important to keep your little one from being exposed to viruses and bacteria that might come from others around the baby. Moreover, don't forget to also bring your baby necessities, such as moisturizer that is specially formulated for babies so that their skin doesn't dry out, diapers and other things that you feel are necessary.
Keep in mind that if your little one has certain conditions or is born prematurely, it would be wise if you first consulted with your doctor before taking your little one out of the house to get more information about safety, comfort and various possible risks.
Activities outside the home are very beneficial for babies and mothers. For mothers, being at home after a long time will of course feel boring, going for a walk can be a refreshing activity to make you feel enthusiastic about continuing your activities. For your little one who has just been born, sunlight, especially in the morning, can be healthy and help the baby adapt to his sleeping hours so that his growth and development will be better.
