Be Careful Mother, Here Are Healthy Foods But Dangerous For Your Little One Under 1 Year
As parents, of course we are very concerned about good food intake for our little ones. Apart from breast milk which contains essential nutrients for babies, as they get older, of course the baby needs nutrition from other food sources to fulfill the nutrients and nutrients for the growth and development of the baby. In order not to interfere with the health and development of your little one, we should be careful and wise in choosing the right food.
One thing we have to pay attention to is whether the food we choose is healthy and right for the baby. Because not all foods that are healthy for adults are also healthy and nutritious for babies. In fact, there are several types of healthy foods that turn out to be harmful to our children. Avoid the following foods at least until our baby is 1 year old.
Honey is a healthy food that contains lots of vitamins and nutrients for us, but the ingredients in honey can cause botulism in babies under 1 year old. Symptoms that may arise in infants when attacked by botulinum bacteria in honey include decreased appetite/drinking milk, weakened arm and leg muscles, sometimes difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing and various other health-degrading effects that require immediate medical assistance in handling. For this reason, avoid giving honey or just adding honey to your little one's food before he is 1 year old.
Vegetables or fruit that have a hard texture should also be avoided because your little one's teeth haven't grown properly. Vegetables and fruit such as carrots, apples, grapes, broccoli and other hard-textured vegetables or fruits. Give it to your little one when you have gone through the cooking process properly first. Including fruit juice, drinking too much fruit juice especially for babies can cause malnutrition, anemia, diarrhea, damage to tooth enamel and others in children. Next, seafood should also be a separate note for mothers when they want to give it to their children. Shellfish, lobster, crab, shrimp and others can cause allergies in children. For this reason, it is necessary to consult with a doctor first before giving various kinds of complementary foods to children.
The introduction of complementary feeding for ASI requires patience and caution and of course the right insight so that our children can receive the food that is given and of course the most important thing is that it is nutritious and beneficial for their growth and development. Starting with providing semi-solid food with proper and correct processing and reducing added sugar and salt in it. Hopefully we can give the best for the baby!
